2015 NEW VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT – Deep Review 2014 HQ

Here the official presentation of the new Volkswagen Passat in the suggestive locations of MATERA, the second town of Lucania and also known as “LA CITTA’ SOTTERRANEA” (the Subterranean City), for its historical center called “Sassi”, considered World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1993, along with the Park of the Rupestrian Churches. The Sassi originate from a prehistoric settlement, and are suspected to be some of the first human settlements in Italy. The Sassi are houses dug into the calcareous rock, with many of these “houses” that are really caverns, and the streets in some parts of the Sassi often are located on the rooftops of other houses. The ancient town grew in height on one slope of the ravine created by a river that is now a small stream. The ravine is known locally as LA GRAVINA.

The Volkswagen Passat is a large family car produced by the german manufacturer of Wolfsburg since 1973. The Passat is surely one of the most beloved sedan ever, with milion of units sold in 41 years of production.

Now at its eighth edition, the Volkswagen Passat B8 will be sold in europe from the first days of 2015 and will be avaiable as a 4-door and a 5-door sedan or in the Station Wagon version (the Volkswagen Passat Variant).

Many engines will be avaiable from the 1.4 TSi with 125 or 156 hp, the 1.8 TSi with 180 hp and the 2.0 litre Tsi powered with 220 or 280 hp. The Passat will mount many turbodiesel engines also from the 1.6 TDI Euro 6 with 120 hp or the powerful 2.0 TDI avaiable with 150, 190 or 239 hp. These last engines will mount the new BlueTech technology for a better use of gasoline and an incredible fuel efficiency with an average of 4,5 litre / 100 Km.

During the second half of 2015 will be unveiled a plug-in hybrid version, named Volkswagen Passat GTE, and featured by a 9.9 KWh lithium-ion battery capable of an all-electric range of 50 Km.

The prices go from the 28.000 € of the 1.4 TSI BlueMotion to the cost of over 45.000 for the twin-turbo 2.0 BiTDI DSG 4Motion, the fastest with its top speed of over 235 Km/h.
