MASERATI SPYDER 90th ANNIVERSARY | 00 of 90 – MASERATI100 2014 HQ

Here another video from the Day 1 of the Maserati100, the Centenary Gathering of Maserati, and part of the material I’ve recorded when more than 250 supercars have reached PIAZZA GRANDE in Modena, Italy to be exposed and admired so be sure to not miss any of these watching the appropriate playlist I’ve created for.
This is the biggest Meeting in the history of TRIDENTE and saw the partecipation of hundreds of crews from every parts of the world like Europe, China, Russia, Australia and America. This is a Three Days event having its first checkpoint in the city of Maserati Factory (MODENA) where all started in 1914 and where Maserati allowed people to admire all cars with precious like 3 MC12 GT1, classic cars like the Bora, the Merak or Mistral, tens of modern ones like the new Quattroporte, Ghibli and Granturismo MC Stradale and super rare ones like the Boomerang, two 4200GT Spyder 90th Anniversary and a Touring Superleggera Bellagio. In the second day the 100Maserati get to Cremona to race on the SAN MARTINO DEL LAGO Circuit and to reach in the evening Turin. In the third day there will be a prestigious 100th Anniversary Concours of Elegance in PIAZZA SAN CARLO in Superga.

In this video a stunning and rare blue Maserati Spyder 90th Anniversary, the #00 of 90, with italian driving licence plate takes part at the event giving me the possibility to film it in each detail like rims, engine, interior, the logo of the “Cavallino” and to record its noisy start-up and its lovely sound while driving.

The Maserati 4200 GT (also known as Maserati Coupé) is an italian grand tourer produced by the manufacturer of Modena since 2001 to replace the Maserati 3200 GT.

The 4200 GT was unveiled for the first time in the Cabriolet version, the Maserati Spyder, at the 2001 Frankfurt Auto Show followed by the Coupe at the 2002 Detroit Motor Show.
Both were designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro for Italdesign, one of the most prestigious signature and already father of cars like the Ferrari 250 GT SWB, the Volkswagen Golf and the DMC Delorean.

The Maserati Coupe is a four-seater supercar which offers a best confort than its rivals Jaguar XKR and Porsche 911 thanks to a 5-15 inches more of length. The Maserati Spider has a soft-top that is electronically operated by a pushbotton on the center of the console and you can close in 30 seconds. This one is a true two-seat roadster with rollbars behind each seat.

The 4200 GT takes its name from the 4.2 litre V8 engine which can develop 390 hp and 450 Nm of torque, enough ti reach the 100 km/h standing in less than 5 seconds for a top speed of 290 Km/h.

The car has a six-speed manual trasmission, using the manual stick shift, or a semiautomatic F1 trasmission using a paddle shifters. In this last configuration the car takes the name of Maserati 4200 Cambiocorsa, word that in italian means “racing shift”. The transmission gearbox is located at the rear of the vehicle and is integrated in with the differential. This gives both the Coupé and Spyder a 48/52% weight distribution between the front and rear axles.

The confort of this supercar is guaranteed by a light alloy double wishbone suspension with front and rear anti-roll bars, GPS navigation system, xenon headlights, parking sensors and cruise control.

Since 2003 a racing version of the 4200 GT, called Maserati Trofeo, was lauched to take part at the Trofeo Racing Series, at the Italian GT Championship, at the FIA GT3 European Championship and other races.

At the 2004 Geneva Motor Show was unveiled a modified of both the version named Maserati GranSport and equipped with a new aerodynamic kit, special 19-inch wheels and a chrome mesh grille. The engine is the same of the standard 4200 GT but now develops 400 hp.

Many special editions of the 4200 GT were made through the years:

– The Maserati Spyder 90th Anniversary, a limited of 90 cars made to celebrate the 90 years of Maserati;

– The Maserati Gran Sport MC Victory, 180 examples made to celebrate the success of the MC12 in the FIA Championship, characterized by carbon fiber body panels and an interior trim package;

– The Maserati Gran Sport Contemporary Classic, with a full leather interior with stylish pipping running around the seats and dashboard, special 19-inch wheels and avaiable in red, white, black and green.

The production of the 4200 GT ends in 2007 when the automaker unveiled its successor, the Maserati Granturismo.

Complete walkaround with each detail like interior, wheels, engine, logo and lights, driving, LOUD starting-up and really noisy exhaust rev sound.
