Here another video from the Day 1 of the Maserati100, the Centenary Gathering of Maserati, and part of the material I’ve recorded when more than 250 supercars have reached PIAZZA GRANDE in Modena, Italy to be exposed and admired so be sure to not miss any of these watching the appropriate playlist I’ve created for.
This is the biggest Meeting in the history of TRIDENTE and saw the partecipation of hundreds of crews from every parts of the world like Europe, China, Russia, Australia and America. This is a Three Days event having its first checkpoint in the city of Maserati Factory (MODENA) where all started in 1914 and where Maserati allowed people to admire all cars with precious like 3 MC12 GT1, classic cars like the Bora, the Merak or Mistral, tens of modern ones like the new Quattroporte, Ghibli and Granturismo MC Stradale and super rare ones like the Boomerang, two 4200GT Spyder 90th Anniversary and a Touring Superleggera Bellagio. In the second day the 100Maserati get to Cremona to race on the SAN MARTINO DEL LAGO Circuit and to reach in the evening Turin. In the third day there will be a prestigious 100th Anniversary Concours of Elegance in PIAZZA SAN CARLO in Superga.

In this video a stunning turquoise and black Maserati MC12 GT1 (only 3 made) #01 with german owner and VITAPHONE livery takes part at the event giving me the possibility to film it in each detail like rims, engine, interior, trident logo and wing.

The Maserati MC12 is an incredible hypercar produced in Modena by the italian car maker of “Tridente” since 2004, mainly to allow itself to compete in the FIA GT Championship. It’s name means indeed “MASERATI CORSE 12 CYLINDERS” and is the most extreme road legal supercar ever produced by Maserati in 100 years of history.

Produced in only 50 units (+ 5 not for sale) and sold for over 650.000 €, the Maserati MC12 Stradale was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and was built on the Ferrari Enzo’s chassis, but larger and lower of it for a better aerodynamics. The chassis is a monocoque entirely made of carbon and nomex, with an additional sub-chassis in aluminium. The car has required the development of a special set of tyres, the Pirelli P-Zero Corsas, with 345/35 ZR 19 for the rear wheels. Furthermore it required a special brake system consists in a new Brembo disc brakes and a Bosch ABS.

The Maserati MC 12 Stradale is perfectly homologate for roads and mounts the same 6.0 litre V12 engine of Ferrari Enzo, which develops 630 hp and 652 Nm of torque, for a top speed of over 335 Km/h and less than 3.7 seconds to reach the 100 Km/h.

In 2004 the racing project started when Maserati completed 3 MC12 GT1 to partecipate to the FIA GT GT1 CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP. Under the AF CORSE Team and drived by Andrea Bertolini and Mika Salo, the car won many races for a final 7th place in the teams championship in the first year, but winning 6 TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIPS, 2 COSTRUCTORS CHAMPIONSHIP and 6 DRIVERS CHAMPIONSHIPS from 2005 to 2009, collecting 40 wins in 94 races.
Furthermore the Maserati MC12 GT1 partecipated to other competitions also, like the Japan SUPER GT CHAMPIONSHIP, the AMERICAN LE MANS SERIES and at the prestigious 24h of LeMans 2005, where it was involved in an accident shortly after the start, loosing the chance to win.

Based on the MC12 GT1, in 2007 Maserati unveiled a new and extreme hypercar named Maserati MC12 Corsa, produced in only 12 examples and sold at over 1.000.000 €. This car had not the street-legal homologation, but was intended for private use on the track, an use comparable with that of the Ferrari FXX. The MC12 Corsa shares the engine with MC12 GT1, producing 755 hp (+120 hp of a “normal” MC12 Stradale) enough to reach the 200 Km/h in less than 6,4 seconds for a max speed of over 340 Km/h.
Each units were built in a single color named BLUE VICTORY, but the lucky owners could customize the car’s paint upon request.

Based on the MC12, at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show was unveiled a concept designed by Pininfarina and named Maserati Birdcage 75th, insirated from the Maserati Tipo Birdcage of the 1960s and made as celebration of Pininfarina Design’s 75th Anniversary.

Complete walk around with each detail like interior, wheels, engine, logo and lights.
