LAMBORGHINI MURCIELAGO LP640-4 – Driving and sound 2014 HQ

Here another video from my special week-end spent in Monaco during the last Top Marques. Monaco is for sure the Carspotting Heaven, because you can see over one hundred exotic supercars and hypercars in an ordinary day and certainly in the Top Marques days, having the opportunity to see the exlusive cars engaged in the Test Drives without losing the chance to visit this wonderful city located on the beautiful French Riviera.

The heart of the city, and “The Mecca” for every guy who likes automotive world, is certainly the CASINO SQUARE where there are the mythic Casino de Monte-Carlo and the HOTEL THE PARIS. This places, for the monegasque PLACE DU CASINO, attract the best cars and hypercars of the world making you time spent there unforgettable.

In this video a stunning grey (GRIGIO TELESTO) Lamborghini Murcielago LP640-4 with swiss driving licence plate takes part at the event giving me the possibility to film it in each detail like rims, engine, interior, the logo of the “toro” and to record its noisy start-up and its lovely sound while driving.

The Lamborghini Murciélago is an italian supercar produced by the manufacturer of Sant’Agata Bolognese since 2001 to replace the Lamborghini Diablo.

Presented for the first time at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, takes its name from a fighting bull of ’70s as is tradition for the automaker and means “bat” in spanish. This new flagship is an all-wheel drive and mid-engined car with an angular design by Luc Donckerwolke (the designer of other cars like the Audi R8, Lamborghini Diablo and Gallardo) characterized by the scissor doors.

The engine is a 6.2 litre V12 which can develop 580 hp and 650 Nm of max torque, enough to reach the 330 Km/h and to go from 0 to 100 Km/h in only 3,8 seconds, thanks also to its lightness and to its 6-speed manual trasmission. In 2004 was introduced a roofless version, the Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster.

The same year was released a numbered limited edition of 50 cars to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Lamborghini and characterized by a special blue body color (the Jade-Green) and named Lamborghini Murcielago 40th Anniversary Edition.

At the 2006 Geneva Auto Show was unveiled the second series of the car with many technical news and a facelift and named Lamborghini Murcielago LP640-4. Its name came from its engine, a new 6.5 litre V12 with 640 hp, from its position (Longitudinale Posteriore) and the “4” stands for 4-wheel drive. With other news like the launch control, a sequential automated 6-speed trasmission and new carbon fibre ceramic composite brakes the LP640-4 has better performance with a top speed of over 340 Km/h and less than 3,4 seconds from 0-100 Km/h.

At the 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show Lamborghini announced the open roof version, the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640-4 Roadster. The same year was unveiled a limited edition of 40 units (20 coupe + 20 roadster) named Murcielago LP640 Versace and revisited by the famous stylist Gianni Versace.

In 2009 another limited edition of 50 cars, the Murcielago LP650-4 Roadster, born with a dual tone paint in Grigio Telesto + Arancio orange and with 650 hp.

At the 2009 Geneva Motorshow was unveiled the ultimate version, the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce mounting the same engine but that now develops 670 hp and 660 Nm of torque, with a top over 350 Km/h and only 3,2 seconds from 0-100 Km/h. The Murcielago SV had a lighter exhaust system, a spoiler and many carbon fiber details inside and out. The production of the LP670-4 SV was planned in 350 units, but only 186 examples were made. In addition to these, were produced 10 examples for the Chinese market, the Murcielago LP670-4 SV China Limited Edition, distinguished by the yellow middle stripe.

To take part to the racing series, were produced a few of units for the track-only use: the Murcielago R-GT for the FIA Championship, the Murcielago RG-1 for the Super GT and the Murcielago R-SV for the FIA GT1 Championship.

The production of Murcielago ends in 2010, when was announced the Aventador LP700-4, with a total of 3084 coupe and 899 roadster made and sold for 400.000 $ each.

Complete walk around with each detail like interior, wheels, engine, logo and lights, driving, LOUD starting-up and really noisy exhaust rev sound.
