FERRARI F512 TR | 1 of 500 – REVIEW and sound 2014 HQ

Here another video from a new great Official Ferrari Meeting in the south Italy this year at its 1th edition. Organized by the “VETERAN CLUB POLICORO”, the greatest Ferrari Club of Basilicata cause Matera will be the “CAPITALE EUROPEA DELLA CULTURA” (EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE) 2019.

This Ferrari Club organize a lot of events which attract the partecipation of over 50 teams from each parts of Italy. This year 55 Ferraris and other supercars from Basilicata, Puglia, Campania, Sicily, Lazio and Calabria atteded at the festival, so be sure not to miss any of the videos I’ve uploaded in the appropriate playlist.

The event has been named LE FERRARI A MATERA and tries to combine passion and culture visiting the suggestive locations of MATERA, the second town of Lucania and also known as “LA CITTA’ SOTTERRANEA” (the Subterranean City), for its historical center called “Sassi”, considered World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1993, along with the Park of the Rupestrian Churches. The Sassi originate from a prehistoric settlement, and are suspected to be some of the first human settlements in Italy. The Sassi are houses dug into the calcareous rock, with many of these “houses” that are really caverns, and the streets in some parts of the Sassi often are located on the rooftops of other houses. The ancient town grew in height on one slope of the ravine created by a river that is now a small stream. The ravine is known locally as LA GRAVINA.

The event was enrich by a Regularity Race on the circuit of the KARTODROMO LA PALOMBA, historical track for many Ferrari Club and other kart enthusiasts.

In this video a stunning and rare red Ferrari F512 TR with italian driving licence plate takes part at the event giving me the possibility to film it in each detail like rims, engine, interior, the logo of the “Cavallino” and to record its noisy start-up and its lovely sound while driving.

The Ferrari Testarossa is an italian sports car produced by the manufacturer of Maranello, Italy since 1984 to replace the Ferrari BB 512i and it’s one of the most beloved car ever made.

Unveiled for the first time at the 1984 Paris Motor Show, had a 4.9 litre V12 engine with 48 valves in mid-position which developed 390 hp and 490 Nm of torque, enough to reach a top speed of over 290 Km/h and to go from 0-100 Km/h in only 5.2 seconds.

The name Testarossa means “red head” in italian and comes from the color of the red-painted cam covers on the flat-12 engine. The design was entirely made by Leonardo Fioravanti for Pinifarina, already father of cars like the Ferrari Dino 246, the Ferrari 288 GTO and the Ferrari 365 Daytona. This includes a sharp exterior design with two big side vents and without a rear spoiler, which gave to the Testarossa the appellation of cheese grater.

In the 1986 Ferrari commissioned a ONE-OFF convertible variant of the Testarossa to be a gift for the FIAT president Gianni Agnelli. The Ferrari Testarossa Spider was painted in Silver with reference to the silver’s periodic table abbreviation, Ag, the first two letters of Agnelli’s name.

Based on the Testarossa, in 1989 was made a concept car commissioned by the Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah and named Ferrari Mythos. The sultan ordered other six units (of a total of 9 made) of another limited edition based on the TR, named Ferrari FX.

The most powerful limited edition is for sure the Ferrari Colani Testa d’Oro, mounting the 4,9 engine of the Testa Rossa but with a twin-turbo which develops 750 hp and 900 Nm of torque.

At the 1992 Los Angeles Auto Show was presented the evolution of the Testarossa, named Ferrari 512TR with many exterior innovations, especially in the lights zone, and a powered engine which now develops 428 hp and 491 Nm of torque and obviously new performance: the 512TR goes now from 0-100 Km/h in only 4.9 seconds for a final max speed of over 315 Km/h. The TR presents new 18-inch wheels also and bigger brakes by Brembo. With a production of 2.261 units sold for a price of 170.000 €, it’s very appreciated by the collectors.

Based on the 512TR was presented a ONE OFF named Ferrari FZ93, designed by Ercole Spada for Zagato.

The last version of the Testarossa was unveiled in the 1994 and was named Ferrari F512M. This evolution has new lights and interior and a powered engine which now has 440 hp and 500 Nm of torque, enough to reach the 320 Km/h and to go from 0 to 100 Kmh in only 4.7 seconds. With only 501 examples made, the Ferrari F512 M is the rarest version of the Testarossa.

In the 2005 Ferrari announce that nine units of a car based on the F 512M were made in the past, named Ferrari F90 and all in the garage of the Sultan of Brunei.

The production of the Testarossa ends in the 1996, when the car was replaced by the Ferrari 550 Maranello, with 7.177 units of the original version made.

Complete walk around with each detail like interior, wheels, engine, logo and lights, driving, LOUD starting-up and really noisy exhaust rev sound.
