FERRARI 456M GT | 1 of 688 – Walkaround 2014 HQ

Here another video from my special week-end spent in Maranello during the Centennial Gathering of Maserati, the MASERATI100, so be sure to watch every video in the playlist I’ve created for.
Maranello is a little city in the center of the italian Motor Valley, an incredible land for each petrolhead for the presence of the most important supercars manufacturer of the world. Indeed here you can find the Ferrari (Maranello), the Lamborghini (Sant’Agata Bolognese), Pagani (San Cesario sul Panaro), Maserati (Modena), Stanguellini (Modena) and more else.

Maranello is the heaven of the Prancing Horses’s lovers because you could see many Ferraris simply standing in front the famous Factory, including all the new models Ferrari has going to lauch for sale. Also you could be lucky enough to see old legends like the 288 GTO, F40 or Ferrari Enzo went in the city for the service. At last be sure to visit the GALLERIA FERRARI, the biggest collection of rare Ferrari of the world.

In this video a stunning and rare blue Ferrari 456M GT spotted outside the Ferrari Museum for the annual meeting of the Ferrari Club France of Paris, visiting the Italy with other 40 Ferraris giving me the possibility to film it in each detail like engine, rims, interior, lights and the logo of “Cavallino”.

The Ferrari 456 GT is an italian grand tourer sports car produced by the manufacturer of Maranello since 1992 to replace the Ferrari 412 as front-engined V12 4 seater.

Presented for the first time at the Spa Francorschamps Circuit, the Ferrari 456 GT mounted a 5.5 litre V12 derived from the Dino V6 which can develop 442 hp and 550 Nm of torque, enough to reach a top speed of over 305 Km/h and only 5.2 seconds from 0-100 Km/h.

The name 456 is derived from the fact that each cylinder displaces 456 cubic centimeters (5474cc / 12) to celebrate its amazing engine with 4 valves per cylinder which makes the 456 the most powerful road car ever developed by Ferrari at the time of its development.

The chassis is a tubular steel spaceframe construction with a one-piece composite bonnet and body panels of aluminium. The body panels are welded to the chassis by using a special “sandwich filler” called feran that, when laid between, allows steel and aluminium to be welded.

The design was entirely by Lorenzo Ramaciotti for Pininfarina, already father of supercars like the Ferrari Enzo, the Maserati Birdcage 75th and of the Ferrari Mythos.

In the 1998 was unveiled a revisited version named Ferrari 456M GT (the M stands for Modificata) with many changes made to improve aerodynamics and cooling, and new interior in Connolly Leather. The 456 has a smaller grille with fog lights outside the grille and also had hood-mounted air scoops which can be seen removed on the 456M. The undercarriage spoiler on the 456M is fixed, where the older 456 had a motorized spoiler that began its deployment above 105 km/h, but the engine remained the same with unchanged power. Only 688 units of the Modificata were made.

At the manual 6-speed trasmission was added a new 4-speed automatic shift mounted on both the version and characterized by the “A” acronym. Only 456 GTA and 650 456M GTA were produced.

At the 2002 Geneva Motor Show was unveiled a limited edition of 20 examples with a two color paint scheme and custom leather interior named Ferrari 456 Bicolore Scaglietti.

Ferrari built two Ferrari 456 GT Sedan with 4-door for Nafsas Al Khaddaja, the main member of the Brunei Royal Family. Furthermore the Sultan paid for a convertible version called Ferrari 456GT Spyder.

Another member of the Brunei Family, the Prince Jefri Bolkiah, ordered seven units of an estate 4-door version named Ferrari 456 GT Venice. Each of this car costs around 1,5 Million dollars.

At last was produced a targa top version for the NBA star Shaquille O’Neal based on a 456GTA.

The production ends in the 2002 with 456 GT 1.548 made (3.289 units considering all the version), when was presented the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.

Complete walk around with each detail like interior, wheels, engine, logo and lights, driving, LOUD starting-up and really noisy exhaust rev sound.
