BMW 507 TOURING SPORT | 1 of 252 – 1000Miglia 2014 HQ

Here’s another video from the 3rd day of the 32° 1000 Miglia, part of the material I’ve recorded when more than 450 vintage cars passed by Rome in the early hours of the day to sign up at the Checkpoint, so be sure to not miss any of these watching the appropriate playlist I’ve created for.
The Mille Miglia was an open-road endurance race taken through Italy 24 times from 1927 to 1957. Since 1977, the MilleMiglia has been reborn as a regularity race for classic cars only, with the participation limited to supercars produced no later than 1957 which had attended in a original race.
Each year the event sees the registration of over 300 crews showing the best hystorical cars ever made including Bugatti, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Aston Martin, Mercedes or Bentley drived by the lucky owners comprise celebrities such as Jay Leno, Jeremy Irons, Bruno Senna, Andrea Zagato, Adrien Brody and Javier Bardem.
The 2014 editon is probably the best ever, with more than 450 cars subscribed and special guess like the FERRARI TRIBUTE, with 60 Prancing Horses including TWO LaFerrari, an Enzo and a F40, the MCLAREN TRIBUTE, with 5 rare Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss and 9 SLR Mclaren and other good stuff from the automotive world.
The route is similiar to that of the original race starting from Viale Venezia in Brescia and crossing through Padova, Ferrara, Ravenna, San Marino, Ancona, Macerata, L’Aquila, Roma, Siena, Lucca, Bologna, Mantova and Verona giving the possibility to over 5 Millions people to admire this unique spectacle.

In this video a stunning silver BMW 507 Touring Sport with german driving licence plate takes part at the event with the #448 crew giving me the possibility to film it in each detail like rims, engine, interior, logo and to record its noisy start-up and its lovely sound while driving.

The BMW 507 is a roadster supercar produced by the german manufacture from 1956 to 1959. Initially was thinked as a special car intended to be exported to the USA with a producion of thousands units per year, but the total production results in a total of only 252 examples, making this one of the rarest german supercars ever.
The car born as a cabriolet version of the BMW 501 to fill the gap between the expensive Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing and the cheap and underpowered Triumph and MG sports cars.
The design was assigned to Albrecht von Goertz, who worked to many Porsche models and who designed the Toyota 2000GT, and the mechanical project was given to the historical BMW engineer Fritz Fiedler.
The body of the BMW 507 was almost entirely hand-formed of aluminium and many cars were sold with an optional hand-fabricated removable hardtop. Front suspension was parallel double wishbones, with torsion bar springs and an anti-roll bar. Rear suspension had a live axle, also sprung by torsion bars, and located by a Panhard rod and a central, transverse A-arm to control acceleration and braking forces.
At the lightness was combined a 3200 cc V8 engine which developed 150 hp, but the performance weren’t up to the Mercedes’s ones, with the car which reached the 200 Km/h goin to 0-100 in 9,4 seconds (against the over 250 Km/h and the 9,0 seconds of the Gullwings).
Despite this, the BMW 507 remains a milestone model for its attractive styling and several notable personalities have owned one. Bernie Ecclestone bought a 507 for 900.000 $ in a London Auction, Elvis Presley had a legendary white 507 with a replaced Chevrolet V8 engine. This last car was sold in another auction in 2011 for over 1.000.000 €.
The one and natural successor of the 507 is the BMW Z8, a 400 hp supercar produced from 1999 to 2003 and sold in more than 5700 units.

Complete walk around with each detail like interior, wheels, engine, logo and lights, driving, LOUD starting-up and really noisy exhaust rev sound.

Hoping you liked the video and that you want Share, Like and Comment to give me the opporunity improve myself.
